Niagara Falls Emergency Plan

Text Version Listen to this page
>> Home:   City Hall:   Fire Department:

Most incidents that occur in Niagara Falls are handled at the local level by well-trained emergency responders. In the event of a larger incident, the Mayor may decide to declare an emergency requiring local officials to assemble as our Community Control Group at the municipal Emergency Operations Centre. This approach ensures a coordinated and effective strategic response.

The Niagara Falls Emergency Plan establishes a framework for a systematic, coordinated and effective emergency response by the City of Niagara Falls. The Community Control Group will work to support an emergency response while working to achieve continuity of operations throughout our city. Once the threat from the emergency has passed, the Community Control Group will assist our city to recover from the emergency.

All municipalities are required to have an emergency management program. The requirements for these programs are set out in the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act. A copy of the Niagara Falls Emergency Plan can be accessed through this site.
