The Niagara Falls Fire Department is a composite department utilizing both career and volunteer personnel operating out of 6 stations.

Presently we have 115 career and 104 volunteer firefighting personnel.

Stations 1, 2 & 3, located in the urban area of the city, operate with career personnel working a 7 on/ 7 off weekly rotation with a minimum of 22 personnel on duty. Each Platoon consists of 1 Platoon Chief, 5 Captains, and 23 firefighters.

Stations 4, 5 & 6, located in the suburban and rural areas of the city, operate with volunteer personnel who are on call 24 hours a day. Full rosters include the following:

Emergency Response

The Niagara Falls Fire Department responds to over 5000 calls annually for fire situations, medical emergencies, water/ice rescues, hazardous materials incidents, high angle rope rescues, gorge rescue incidents, and confined space rescues utilizing the following apparatus:

Competition Teams

The Competition Teams for Niagara Falls consists of many career and volunteer Firefighters who participate in various competitions in both Canada and the United States. The competition teams consist of an Auto Extrication team and Combat Challenge team.
